Installation guide:
Materials and tools we advise you to use to install the bricks to your desired place:
- 1. Gypsum/plasterboard adhesive.
- 2. Notched trowel for applying the adhesive on the bricks and wall.
- 3. Diamond blade/hacksaw or fine tooth saw/blade to preserve a fine surface and prevent breakage and crumbling.
Gypsum decorative bricks must be installed on a flat base and even walls. Unevenness must be plastered and the surface must be treated with a deep penetration primer. You can check if the wall is even using a spirit level. The adhesive composition needs to be applied on the wall, where the brick will be glued, and on the brick itself. We recommend using a gypsum based adhesive for attaching the gypsum bricks to the wall. The gypsum component in the adhesive solution will provide better adhesion between the wall and the bricks. The adhesive must be applied to the place of gluing with a notched trowel and needs to be evenly distributed on the surface. The brick needs to be placed on the wall of the marked area. The next bricks have to be glued, guided by the first element. Gypsum decorative bricks can be glued without problems by tightly adhering to each other, but we still recommend leaving a distance of 1 mm between the elements. The size of the gypsum bricks can be adjusted by simply cutting the brick. After cutting, smooth with extra fine sandpaper. Open joints must be filled with plaster/finishing screed.
Should you wish to paint the bricks we recommend using a primer before painting. A primer is a preparatory coating put on materials before painting and ensures better adhesion of paint to the surface. Increases paint durability, and provides additional protection for the material being painted. For best results you can use a good-quality acrylic latex paint or water-based paint as well as a paintbrush, velour roller or spray.
Not recommended for installation in bathrooms or outdoors.
